Integration and Homogeneous Functions

چکیده
We show that integrating a (positively) homogeneous function f on a compact domain Ω ⊂ Rn reduces to integrating a related function on the boundary ∂Ω. The formula simplifies when the boundary ∂Ω is determined by homogeneous functions. Similar results are also presented for integration of exponentials and logarithms of homogeneous functions.

Saint-Venant torsion of non-homogeneous anisotropic bars
The BEM is applied to the solution of the torsion problem of non-homogeneous anisotropic non-circular prismatic bars. The problem is formulated in terms of the warping function. This formulation leads to a second order partial differential equation with variable coefficients, subjected to a generalized Neumann type boundary condition. The problem is solved using the Analog Equation Method (AEM)...
متن کاملNumerical integration of homogeneous functions on convex and nonconvex polygons and polyhedra
We present a method for the numerical integration of homogeneous functions over convex and nonconvex polygons and polyhedra. On applying Stokes’s theorem and using the property of homogeneous functions, we show that it suffices to integrate these functions on the boundary facets of the polytope. For homogeneous polynomials, this approach is used to further reduce the integration to just functio...
متن کاملNumerical integration of polynomials and discontinuous functions on irregular convex polygons and polyhedrons
We construct efficient quadratures for the integration of polynomials over irregular convex polygons and polyhedrons based on moment fitting equations. The quadrature construction scheme involves the integration of monomial basis functions, which is performed using homogeneous quadratures with minimal number of integration points, and the solution of a small linear system of equations. The cons...
متن کاملThree-Dimensional Interfacial Green’s Function for Exponentially Graded Transversely Isotropic Bi-Materials
By virtue of a complete set of two displacement potentials, an analytical derivation of the elastostatic Green’s functions of an exponentially graded transversely isotropic bi-material full-space was presented. Three-dimensional point-load Green’s functions for stresses and displacements were given in line-integral representations. The formulation included a complete set of transformed stress-p...
متن کاملNonsingular Green’s Functions for Multi-Layer Homogeneous Microstrip Lines
In this article, three new green's functions are presented for a narrow strip line (not a thin wire) inside or on a homogeneous dielectric, supposing quasi-TEM dominant mode. These functions have no singularity in contrast to so far presented ones, so that they can be used easily to determine the capacitance matrix of multi-layer and single-layer homogeneous coupled microstrip lines. To obtain ...
